New Burnside Bridgehead meeting
Thursday, December 17
For anyone interested, there will be a big meeting concerning the Burnside Bridgehead Project on Jan. 27 at bSide6 to see what the concept plans are for the empty lot next door to the park. I know this has been going on for almost 6 years now but we are fast-tracking this new project so hopefully it won't be such a lon...g process this time.If anybody thinks that they have a great idea that is reasonable, let's hear it. If you can't make the meeting I will compile all of the suggestions and take them with me to the meeting and discuss them with the architects and developers. All of them are totally on board with making sure the skatepark is taken care of so feel free to be creative. Just realize that the parking lot immediately North of the park is some of the most valuable property in Portland so we need to try to really make whatever we suggest fit in with whatever concept plans are shown.
Check the link for more details from the Portland Development Commision.

Burnside Skatepark on Myspace?
Monday, March 23
I just wanted to put out a warning to any of you myspace users out there that may think you have the Burnside Skatepark on your friends list, WE HAVE NO MYSPACE PAGE!There is a Burnside myspace page (http://www.myspace.com/burnsidesk8park) that some unknown person has had for quite some time, but when I asked who it was, I was told that it didn't matter. That it was for the park. Well, that's all good and fine, right? But I just noticed that there have been some new things added that I wanted to bring to everybody's attention.
DO NOT GIVE MONEY TO THE BURNSIDE SKATEPARK MYSPACE. I check the page from time to time to see what they're doing and I noticed this statement, "You can deposit money into burnside skatepark fund to film documentaries, videos and movies." We, the Burnside Skatepark, do not know who runs it and have no idea where the money would go. The person who runs it has never asked us for permission nor have they ever donated anything to the park. Also, no money donated to the Burnside Skatepark fund is used in the making of any films or documentaries. All of the donations to the Burnside Skatepark fund (the Paypal link goes directly to the fund) are put directly into the skatepark itself, including concrete, paint, and any other construction type material we may need to maintain or improve the skatepark. NO donations are used for anything else. Period.
Whoever runs that page takes things I write here and adds them there. I do not run that page. Really, I don't care that they do that, I just want to make it very clear that we have no idea who it is, so use caution. And if you are the owner of that page, feel free to contact me at burnsideskatepark@gmail.com or burnsideskatepark@hotmail.com . Same goes to anyone that may have questions.
Sorry if I seem to have went off on a rant here, but I don't want anybody to feel that we are doing anything other than what I say we are.
That's it. Go skate!
Thank You!

We've been getting a decent amount of donations lately and so I just wanted to say thank you on behalf of all the skaters at Burnside. It's totally appreciated and everyone will see the impact in the near future. If things continue on the path they are on, we hope to be able to continue the build-out early this spring. Thanks again.
Oh, one last thing. Sorry about the format of the site lately. I removed a couple of things and now it seems to have changed a bit. Maybe we'll have a site redesign to take care of things.
That's it. Go skate!
Now It's Your Turn
Thursday, November 6
I've just added a new button on the right, and below, that is pretty self-explanatory. Why would this need to be added here after all these years?
THE PARK IS OUT OF MONEY!
Burnside has been forunate enough to not have to ask for donations for almost 20 years now. Of course the locals have always kicked down a $5 or $10 spot when a bit short for patch crete, paint, or what ever was needed, but we've never asked the world. So here it is.
Please help the Burnside skatepark. We have a once in a lifetime opportunity in the coming months to possibly double the parks size. Of course this may only be for a year (long story. E-mail burnsideskatepark@gmail.com if you want details), but it could last much longer too. Burnside does not receive any money from any city or private organizations. It is funded by donations or site-use fees for movies and other uses.
If anybody has any questions at all, feel free to e-mail the skatepark at burnsideskatepark@gmail.com or burnsideskatepark@hotmail.com. And if anyone has any concerns that this is legit, feel free to contact Mark "Red", Sage, or myself, Chuck, and confirm this. I can give contact details via e-mail if requested.

Thanks for your support of Burnside over the years and I hope this will help the park stay in world-class shape for many more years to come.
That's it. Go skate!

"Built without permission, by skateboarders and later sanctioned by the city, Burnside is the preeminent example of action.... Like a magnifying glass in the sun, Burnside can witness a concentration of skill level unmatched anywhere. You can see crazy, crazy things there. Go, watch, learn, be humbled, excited and inspired. It is amazing."

Who are these guys that kill it at Burnside? The plan is to interview a different local each month to get different views from the people that skate one of the best parks in the world.
