DLH Productions is the work of Portland's very own Dave Hupp. He's a local professional photographer that has been shooting and filming skateboarding in the Northwest for years. His work can be seen in movies, magazines, and more. Check out his website and tell him Burnsideskatepark.com sent you.

"Built without permission, by skateboarders and later sanctioned by the city, Burnside is the preeminent example of action.... Like a magnifying glass in the sun, Burnside can witness a concentration of skill level unmatched anywhere. You can see crazy, crazy things there. Go, watch, learn, be humbled, excited and inspired. It is amazing."

Today the park is getting a good power washing and paint job. I'll have pics of the park and the Halloween session up Monday.

Also, I just put up Meers interview. Check it out.

That's it. Go skate!

Construction Begins Today

Tuesday, October 26
Red and company will start renovating Burnside today. We had a meeting where nearly 20 local skaters got together to talk about what the park needed most. Suprisingly, there weren't too many suggestions thrown out. In the end, the final decision was to grind the square bowl "baby butt" smooth, cut-out and repair any and all problem areas, this means using a concrete saw, cutting and removing big chunks and refilling, and a secret kicker somewhere in the park.

There may be additional changes, but they won't be known until it's done. It basically came down to, "If you want something new at the park, show up Tuesday, and be ready to work." There are some guys that will be helping Red out that have a couple of additional ideas they may get worked into the park, but I guess that depends on how persuasive they are.

If you want to help out, get down to Burnside today, Tuesday, or tomorrow. After the construction, the park will get power washed and painted, so don't plan on skating when you go down. Get down to Burnside and get your hands dirty. Get some working experience with concrete and skatepark construction.

That's it. Go work!
