"Built without permission, by skateboarders and later sanctioned by the city, Burnside is the preeminent example of action.... Like a magnifying glass in the sun, Burnside can witness a concentration of skill level unmatched anywhere. You can see crazy, crazy things there. Go, watch, learn, be humbled, excited and inspired. It is amazing."

What? You missed Halloween

Monday, November 1
The park was clean. The sun was shining. The skating was insane. That about raps up the Halloween session at Burnside yesterday. There were rarely times when less than five people were barging the park and, really, there weren't all that many collisions. Oh, there were some good ones, but not as many as you would expect seeing everybody criss crossing the park at full speed. There were quite a few people riding in costumes too, some that looked pretty skethchy to be skating in. Like this one guy, he was rolling around in a big sumo suit that was big and round. He was still throwing down, even though he couldn't see his feet. I have to give it up to Red though, he skated for a while then disappeared. The next time I saw him, he was sporting a diaper and a baby bonnet charging up the big wall to big frontside wall ride above the ledge. It was classic.

I don't have time today to really get into the details, that will come soon though. As well as some bad photos I took. I've come to realize that my calling is not to be a photographer. I was getting a lot of just landed, just bailed, or just rolling photos. I'll post them all here in a day or two so you can see what was up. There were big crowds and just as I had to bail to take my two boys trick-or-treating, a flat bed truck pulled up and a band started setting up. I'm going to try and get a guest poster to give the run down of all the happenings after I left so we can get the full scoop.

That's it. Go skate!
