DLH Productions is the work of Portland's very own Dave Hupp. He's a local professional photographer that has been shooting and filming skateboarding in the Northwest for years. His work can be seen in movies, magazines, and more. Check out his website and tell him Burnsideskatepark.com sent you.

"Built without permission, by skateboarders and later sanctioned by the city, Burnside is the preeminent example of action.... Like a magnifying glass in the sun, Burnside can witness a concentration of skill level unmatched anywhere. You can see crazy, crazy things there. Go, watch, learn, be humbled, excited and inspired. It is amazing."

Are There Any Artists In The House

Wednesday, August 4
I've been trying to make a new title banner for this site and have come to the conclusion that I suck when it comes to graphics. I know there really isn't anything wrong with what's there now, but I want something original. The title banner now is just modified from the original template I used. I like the look of the rest of the page but, in my opinion, the top blows. So I've come up with an idea that I hope works.

I'm going to have a contest (C'mon, this isn't the park, just it's website). I know that there are tons of very creative and talented skaters out there that are hip to computer graphics, and I'm hoping that a few of you might be into helping this site out. So here are the details:

Must be original (photoshop, artwork, whatever)
Banner must at least say Burnside Skatepark
There are 4 page that need a new banner, but doing all 4 is optional.
(Main, History, Quotes, Photos)
Must be at least 80px in height
Must be in .jpg, .gif, .png, or .bmp format
Must be no larger than 250kb
Has to be e-mailed to burnsideskatepark@hotmail.com by August 31st

I am willing to change the colors of the site to fit with the banner, so anything goes. I'm not sure what the winning entry would get, probably a deck, t-shirt or something like that, so it's worth the little bit of time that you artists put in. So let's see what you got!

That's it. Go skate!

You Can Call Me Slacker

Tuesday, August 3
First, let me say that I suck at trying to take photos of the sessions happening at the park. I had the camara with me and there was some sick skating going down, but my problem is that I get skating and don't want to stop to poach some pics. It's hard to sit down and watch everyone skate and not join in on the fun.

This weekend was the big blowout at Lincoln City. I wasn't able to make it but I'm sure it was sick.

I'm not really in a very creative mood, so I don't have anything else to write. I'll try again later.

That's it. Go skate!
