Sign of the Times
Tuesday, July 5
A couple of weeks ago a new sign was hung at Burnside. There has been a sign hanging at the park for the past 13 years and this is the first time it has been updated. The new sign gives a quick history of the park and then a few simple rules.
Here's what the sign says:
By skating and enjoying Burnside, we all agree to help do the following:
Dispose of all trash into provided receptacles (even if it isn't yours),
Keep all drugs and alcohol out of and away from the park,
Be respectful to all neighboring businesses and fellow riders,
Discourage all activities except skateboarding
(No Loitering, No Bikes, No Scooters, No Graffiti, etc.),
Help Self-Police the park (within a reasonable manner),
and Report crime to the proper authorities.

A little something new, compliments of Meer.

That's it. Go skate!

"Built without permission, by skateboarders and later sanctioned by the city, Burnside is the preeminent example of action.... Like a magnifying glass in the sun, Burnside can witness a concentration of skill level unmatched anywhere. You can see crazy, crazy things there. Go, watch, learn, be humbled, excited and inspired. It is amazing."

Who are these guys that kill it at Burnside? The plan is to interview a different local each month to get different views from the people that skate one of the best parks in the world.
